I met a girl

It was one fine day and I met a girl, with big round eyes and hairs with curl.
She was of different kind, and I was just love blind.
I touched her heart, she touched mine; and we were in love in no time!
Those unforgettable dine, a cocktail or just wine.
It was one fine day and I met a girl…
But all seems lost when we started fight; blurred our beautiful night.
I know I was not right; but can we now make it alright?
It was one fine day and I met a girl…
Why we hurt the person we love the most?
Why we make a person cry, whom actually we want to give all the happiness?
Why we see her crying and don’t give her hug?
Why?
Friends, it was one fine day and I met a girl; she was like pearl but I was dust whirl.

I know it would never be the same…

I know it would never be the same,
and for all the sin i should take the blame.

Remembering those lovely days, your songs that all says.
Holding your hand, caressing your hair;
Long talks and beautiful moments to share !

But I know it would never be the same,
and for all the sin i should take the blame.

The heart that skips a bit on your call, and the world that feels so small.
Seems like I’ve been waiting for you so long;
but not sure if it was wrong !

And I know it would never be the same,
and for all the sin i should take the blame.

When I’m seating all alone, wish my feelings are known.
Your smile, your lips, your happiness, your pain;
What is sane and who insane?

Yeh, I know it would never be the same,
and for all the sin i should take the blame.

I wish I could tell you to come into my life for forever, But I know it’s not gonna happen ever.
Can’t stop my love, my feelings;
and all the hopes and day dreamings !

But ya ya, I know it would never be the same,
and for all the sin i should take the blame.

Robbery in Hong Kong

During a recent robbery in Hong Kong, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: “Don’t move. The money belongs to the Government. Your life belongs to you.” Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called “Mind Changing Concept” Changing the conventional way of thinking.

When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her: “Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!” This is called “Being Professional” Focus only on what you are trained to do!

When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): “Big brother, let’s count how much we got.” The older robber rebutted and said: “You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!” This is called “Experience” Nowadays, experience is more important than paper qualifications!

After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: “Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves and add it to the $70 million that we have previously embezzled from the bank”. This is called “Swim with the tide” Converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage!

The supervisor says: “It will be good if there is a robbery every month.” This is called “Changing priority” Personal Happiness is more important than your job”.

The next day, the TV news reported that $100 million was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count $20 million. The robbers were very angry and complained: “We risked our lives and only took $20 million. The bank manager took $80 million with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!” This is called “Knowledge is worth as much as gold!”

The bank manager was smiling and happy because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery. This is called “Seizing the opportunity” Daring to take risks!

La Festa – First good experience with IRCTC

Last week I went to Mumbai for short holiday (Only 3 days 😦 ) However it was short, it refreshed my mind. The smell of Vada Pav and Chaat in Mumbai always makes me hungry! There is phrase that states “We never know the true value of a thing unless we lose it.” The same thing is happening with me. When I was in Mumbai, I never realized “How precious Vada Pav is!”

I am writing this blog especially to describe my experience with IRCTC’s new Fast food restaurant – La Festa. This fast food restaurant is opened on Andhari railway station on East side. I visited there on last Friday and I was impressed with all the quality, quantity, rate and service.

La Festa

La Festa

Considering previous track record of the IRCTC service I entered the restaurant with confused face (Looking nice from outside but what will be inside?? :O)

But my eyes widen after having look at inside. Specious place, nicely arranged chairs, fresh environment, clean washbasin and that too in restaurant ran by Indian railway! I took one place with my friend and first thing was two glasses of water on our table without late! And the next moment Menu Card was on our table. Nicely printed, you also have a look…

01032013425

I checked the menu and surprised to see the rates! Wohh…Vada Pav @10Rs! (My blood pressure was at peak when I asked the Vada Pav rate in Inorbit mall, Hyderabad  – 26Rs + tax) Also I saw French fries on menu card 🙂

I ordered Vada pav, Pav bhaji and Spicy French fries. The waiter brought the order and 3-4 tissue papers, which was really impressive.  Taste of all the items was over expected. Then I thought of making experiment on Cold coffee with Ice cream and that too had good outcome 🙂 Again the waiter offered couple of tissue papers!

And the bill was only 149Rs! I personally thanked the guy for good hospitality before leaving the place. You also visit this place once and surprise by good service by IRCTC!

An Incomplete Love Story

Madhav was in 10th standard in one of the well known school in Mumbai. He was average in his studies but was good in sports. This story is all about his love for Riya.

Riya! Yeh Riya…She was very beautiful and scholar girl in 9th standard. She was very popular in teachers because of her talkativeness and smartness.

Days were passing fast and the day came which changed Madhav’s life. It was Annual Sports day in the school. Madhav was captain in one of the sport. He was rushing to the ground and unknowingly hit a girl and she fell down. This was the moment! Yeh this was the moment. He looked at her…her face was so cute and full of innocence. He was helping her to stand but he wasn’t able to take of his eyes from her face. As their eyes met Madhav felt something in his heart. “Yes, she is the girl I want. She is in my school only. I have seen her many times but this is the first time I noticed her. Oh, she is so beautiful.” She was Riya!

The whole day Madhav was in his own world. First time he was experiencing the magic of love! He couldn’t able to tell any of his friends also; otherwise they would have teased him and also her. He couldn’t able to gather courage to tell his feelings to Riya.

Keeping all the thoughts about Riya in mind, he gave the Board exam of S.S.C. and cleared with 70%. Then he joined the college which wasn’t far from his school. Now Riya was in 10th standard. Because of some bad friend circle in college, Madhav got addicted to cigarette and liquor.

One day while coming from college, he saw Riya near his school. All his past memories got up. He told this thing to one of his best friend Rahul. Madhav decided that he would propose her to express his feelings. He thought that 14th Feb will be very good day to propose Riya. He was all set and was waiting for that day.

And the day rose! He wore a new shirt and was waiting outside the school for her. Then at 6 O’clock bell rang and all the students started flooding outside the school. Madhav started searching for her and after 10min he saw her coming out of the school gate. His heart started pumping faster than ever. He gathered all his courage and went to her.

Madhav: “Hi”

Riya: “Hi, do you know me?”

Madhav: “Except your name I know nothing, but I would like to know”

Riya: “What?”

Madhav: “Riya, my name is Madhav”

Riya: “Ok, then?”

Madhav: “Actually…I…me….I mean you..”

Riya: “What???”

Madhav: “Riya, I…..I wanted to tell you something…”

Riya: “Ya, tell me”

Madhav: “Riya…actually..I wanted to tell you that…that…I like you very much…”

Riya: “???????”

She was all with confused state. And Madhav was speechless. Without saying anything she started walking. Madhav tried to stop her.

Madhav: “Riya..listen to me…please…I really like you..I want your answer…I will wait here tomorrow at the same time.”

But she walked away without turning back. Whole night Madhav couldn’t able to sleep. He kept turning his sides thinking of Riya.

Next day he went to Riya’s school at the same time. After some time she came. Madhav tried to guess her mood by her face but it was totally blank. She directly came to him, Madhav kept staring at her. He put her hand inside her bag and took out something. Before Madhav could think anything she said “Give me your hand”.

Madhav: “What?”

Riya: “I said that give me your hand”

Madhav did forward his hand towards her without uttering a word. She put something in his hand. After seeing that thing Madhav’s face shattered.

It was Rakhi !!

He felt very low and went home with sad face. He met Rahul at night and told him everything.

Rahul: “Hey Madhav, Should I tell you one thing? Will you listen”

Madhav: “hmm”

Rahul: “You really love her?”

Madhav: “You were telling something or asking?”

Rahul: “Shut up bastard. Just answer me.”

Madhav: “Ya man, of course I love her”

Rahul: “Then go and get her”

Madhav: “What? Are you nuts? She threw this Rakhi on my face. How is this possible?”

Rahul: “Yait is possible my bro. You can do it”

Madhav’s eyes spakled. He thought something and said “Ya Rahul, I have to do this”. Rahul just smiled and they hugged each other.

Next day Madhav couldn’t able to wait till 6PM. He went to the school in her lunch break. She was seating in her school campus with her friends. As he saw her, he went directly to her. She was shocked after seeing him but she kept mum. Rahul was bit scared because of her friends, but he gathered all his courage. His throat was dried; he found that his words stuck at his tongue. There was killing silent between all of them.

Madhav started breaking that silence “Riya, this is the Rakhi you gave me yesterday. I am giving it back to you.”

He gave that to her and added “Riya, I really like you. I don’t want to be your bro. I am giving back your Rakhi with all respect and move forward my hand as a partner”

Riya was seeing him with open mouth and her friends too! Her heart was scared because this whole incident was unexpected and she was experiencing this for the first time. But somewhere in her heart she was admiring Madhav’s courage to propose her again even though she gave him the Rakhi! And that too in front of everyone! She saw in Madhav’s eyes, she felt comfort into those.

She recovered herself from this sweet shock and said “We will talk later”.

These four words were enough to calm Madhav’s heart. He smiled at her and left the place. He was feeling like thousand butterflies tickled in his heart. Here, Riya was also in same feeling. She was experiencing this feeling for the first time. She wasn’t able to concentrate on any lectures post lunch. Her friends also kept teasing her that made bit angry but she was happy at her heart. “How much guts he has? Even though I tied Rakhi to him, he came again to propose me!”

Next day Madhav went late to the school because of some work. It was 6.15 PM in the clock and he came running. As soon as he reached the school, he found that Riya was waiting for him on the gate. He was very happy to see her. He went to her and apologized for coming late. She said “It’s ok”

Madhav: “How was your day?”

Riya: “Fine. Yours?”

Madhav: “I was thinking all the time about you.”

Riya: “Actually, me too.”

Saying this she smiled. That sweet smile on her shy face made him mad.

Riya: “Can I ask you one question?”

Madhav: “You’ve already asked one!”

Riya: “Uhh?”

Madhav: “Just kidding. Ask me”

Riya: “Is it really a love?”

Madhav: “I don’t know. I don’t know the definition of love but for each second I think of you, every moment of life is filled with you.” She just smiled.

After small chat they went to their home. Both of their lives entered in new phase. They were enjoying dew of each moment. Those long waits just to chat for five minutes! Eating pani puri together! They were just awesome days!

Both were involved in each other completely. Months after months passed. She completed her SSC and entered into College life. She joined the same college where Madhav was. They were most popular couples among their friends and they were proud of that.

But one thing Madhav never told her; about his smoking and drinking and he never stopped that habbit.

Madhav completed his second year of Junior College. He took admission in one of the good college in Pune for BCA, because of his parents wish. Riya was against that, but Madhav promised that they will be in touch on phone and he will come once or twice in a month to meet her. Riya was very sad but she had no option.

Madhav joined college there. He used to call her daily and used to come to Mumbai to meet her. He got new friends in Pune, he got more addicted to smoking and drinking. After few months calls and Mumbai trips reduced. He found difficult to manage long distance relationship. Often he gets angry on Riya if she went out with her male friends. Day by day fights were getting increased. After fights Madhav used to drink a lot and Riya used to cry whole night.

Riya was feeling more and more lonely in Mumbai. She wanted someone to be with her all the time, to listen to her. Whenever she tried to tell Madhav, it ended up in some silly fight. Relation was at worst condition. Both were trying to pull that but who can stitch totally torn cloth?

It was Sunday, Madhav got up late in the morning. He felt something stuck in his throat. He went to washroom and tried to cough. He found some blood on the basin. He was very scared. He went to doctor for checkup. After lot many tests doctor told him that this was very serious matter. His liver was damaged because of excess drinking of alcohol.

Rahul was almost unconscious after hearing that. He came home and sat restlessly. He didn’t tell anyone about this. He was badly missing Riya, he wanted to meet her and tell her everything.

Madhav came to Mumbai. He tried to call Riya but it was not reachable. He came to know that nowdays Riya is roaming with some other guy from his friend. He was fuming with anger. He kept trying her call all the day. In the evening she picked up the call. He just said “Meet me right now near our school.” She just said “Ok”

He reached first at the school. He wasn’t able to control his anger and she arrived. Her face was calm with no expression. Madhav got confused. He controlled his anger and asked her “Riya, I heard something about you..”

Riya: “That’s true”

Madhav: “What?”

Riya: “You listen correct. I don’t love you now Madhav. I am fed up by your behavior”

Madhav was come here to tell her about his liver damage but after hearing this from her mouth, he was totally destroyed.

He held his tears and asked her “Do you love someone else?”

Riya: “I don’t know. But that guy cares me more than you.”

Madhav: “May I know his name?”

Riya: “Rahul”

Madhav: “Rahul?? Son of a b***ch”

Riya: “What???”

Madhav: “Nothing. Bye. Wish you a great future.”

Madhav left that place without hearing Riya’s reply. He was in shock, how Rahul can do this to me? He was such a good friend of mine.

He went to Rahul’s home, pulled him out of his home and slapped him.

Rahul: “Behave yourself Madhav. What I have done?”

Madhav: “You are asking this question to me? I always thought you were my good friend and you cheated me?”

Rahul: “Madhav, rather you look back few months and check your behavior with Riya. She was crying for you day night and you were busy drinking there.”

Madhav: “So you were ready here to give her your shoulder?”

Rahul: “I just helped her to get rid of that.”

Madhav kept mum and left Rahul’s home. He wasn’t feeling to go home. He listened that someone calling him from behind. He looked back. She was Priya, Riya’s best friend in college. She came to Rahul.

Priya: “Madhav I want to tell you something”

Madhav: “Ya tell me Priya” (His voice was low)

Priya: “Riya was upset because of fights between you two, but she never felt as leaving you. But Rahul started liking her. He splurged as Madhav is very bad boy. He told her that Madhav drinks, smokes and roams with girls in Pune and don’t love her. After some days she started believing him. Then he trapped her with his sweet words and extra care. Now he taken her so far from you that I think you can’t reach. I wanted to tell you these things from many days but you never met me.”

Tears started rolling from Madhav’s eyes.

Madhav: “Thanks Priya for telling me all the truth. Atleast I came to know that Riya is innocent. But we need to help Riya to get out from Rahul’s traps”

Priya: “This is my phone number. I am getting late now, call me tomorrow. Give me miscall first, I will save your number”

Madhav: “Ok Priya, Bye”

Next day morning Madhav had vomited up the blood. Everyone in his family got scared. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. His condition was very bad. Now his mother and father came to know everything. Priya was waiting for Madhav’s call till the evening. After waiting so much time she called him. Madhav’s mother picked up the call and told her everything.

Priya went to Riya’s home and brought her to the hospital. After seeing Madhav’s condition her eyes were filled with tears. She held Madhav’s hand in her hand. Madhav started crying after feeling her touch. Madhav wanted to tell her the truth about Rahul, but he has to do lot efforts to throw a word from mouth.

He started in low voice: “Riya, I always loved you. I am sorry for all the fights I did with you and I am getting punishment for that. A very big punishment! But I wanted to inform you like Rahul is not good guy. I am on death bed today, I am not lying.”

Both were sobbing. Madhav continued, but his voice was too low. “I am sorry for my mistakes…I love you Riya…I really love you..”

And those happened to be his last words. Riya couldn’t able to control her feelings; she was crying loudly and so all the Madhav’s family.

Madhav died that day, but he is always alive in Riya’s heart ♥

Excel – Match columns in multiple Files to retrieve other column

Many time you want to retrieve a column by matching the columns which are in different excel files. I am giving you a simple way to do that. The vlookup is very useful function in Excel. The vlookup stands for “vertical lookup”.

Consider there are two excel files viz, Book1.xlsx and Book2.xlsx as below.

Book1.xlsx

book1

Book2.xlsx

book2

As you can see both the files has same elements in first column but in different order. Consider that we want to retrieve the second column in Book2.xlsx by matching elements in first columns of both the files.

vlookup can easily do this:

lookup

I will explain the vlookup function with all the parameters:

=VLOOKUP(A1,[Book1.xlsx]Sheet1!$A:$B,2,FALSE)

A1 – Column in Book2 which you want to map with Book1
Book1.xlsx – Name of other excel sheet we want to map
Sheet1 – Sheet1 of Book1 which contains the table
SA:SB – Columns of the Book1 sheet1
2 – Column number in Book1 which you want to map
FALSE – Ignorecase

After giving vlookup for first row you can tab out and then I will ask to select the file, select Book1.xlsx. As you select you will get required value in the second column.

output1

Then just copy the cell B1 and paste in all the cells B2 through B9 and you will get all the required values matched with Book1.xlsx.

output2

This will save lot of your time while working with thousand of records in Excel.

The feeling of getting “cheated”

From many days I wanted to buy some funky Sneakers rather than regular ones(which i already have one). Two days back my friend gave me one link which was showing 43% discount on Canvas shoes. The link was on junglee.com which is  an online shopping service by Amazon.com, you might all know. I thought of buying one of them as it was a good deal.

As you all know Amezon.com has their sellers tied up though which they sell their products. The seller for those Canvas shoes was MySmartshop.com. I never heard of this site before, so i asked my friend that is it a genuine one? He said “yeh buddy, there is outlet in Madhapur. Dont worry. It’s a big, well known website” .

mysmartshop

So i haven’t done any research on that site and we both bought the shoes from there. We received the mail regarding order confirmation. Everything was fine till this time.

Next day I checked my mail account but i didn’t received any further mail regarding shipping details. I thought of checking website to track the order. And I was stunned to see that website is not available. First I though there will be some net problem or site will be down for maintenance. I tried calling Customer care number which was given on purchase order, but it was not existing. I was shocked!

Hurriedly i called my friend and told this. He collected all the phone numbers of that site from justdial.com and the same result…all phone numbers where saying “Does not exist!!” My friend went to check the outlet in Madhapur but it was closed too.

Website Not Available ! Phone Not Exist ! Outlet closed !

The first word thrown from mouth was “WTF!!”

The shoes was worth Rs.399. But the question was not only of money but the feeling of getting CHEATED. It was worst :/

As a last hope we mailed on the mail id given on purchase order and mentioned that we will take help of National Consumer Helpline.  After an hour my friend got call from a person saying “Sorry sir, we have closed our website and all our outlets. But we will dispatch your order”. We were happy to hear that. Whatever with the site, but we are getting our order.

The next day(i.e. Yesterday) we got call from DTDC(which i think is worst Courier service) saying “DTDC courier. Come collet.opp nanakramguda.govt.school, urgent plz”

Nokia 311

What the hell?? You are providing Courier Service and you are saying to collect your courier from their office and that too by message? Even though we called them to ask the details, but the lady on phone couldn’t able to spit a single word in English or Hindi(Only Telugu). After facing lot of problem I finally received my order from DTDC office, Nanakramguda.

And when I opened that the shoe size was 42 instead of 43(which I had ordered)!!!

Fumed !!!!!

P.S: The product is still available at Junglee.com with same seller.
